In the cemetery with Schumann

about

Dark scary piano music inspired in Robert Schumann's "Album for the young", perfect to create gloomy atmospheres in a graveyard at night, or in a Halloween party 🕸🕷💀 With a surprising crescendo with tubular bells and synthesizer at the end.

Creativity and suffering in the life of Robert Schumann:

🕸Crises, depression, suicide attempts, and periods of complete confinement were frequent in Schumann's life; they were accentuated from 1844 and continued to increase until death.

But Schumann's great creative intensity was concentrated in periods of lucidity, admirably. As soon as he recovered from a period of illness, he frantically indulged in composition, working tirelessly. Not only did he compose the main melodies nor was he limited to piano works, but despite being in a very degraded physical and mental state, he took charge of the complete symphonic instrumentation of all his works, to the point of exhaustion.

🕸On February 27, 1854, Schumann threw himself into the Rhine and was rescued there in time, but his mind had already been lost forever. He was interned in a private sanatorium in Endenich, near Bonn, where he remained until his death on July 29, 1856. He was only 46 years old.
